Aviary Photo_130486801619289724Graduating from the Curtin University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) honours focused in Visual Arts, Alex translated his visual focus into the digital workspace.

His natural ease in understanding all things technical quickly allowed him to experiment with the digital medium and carved the path of a creative professional for the years to come.

Starting out as a freelance Mac Operator laying out magazine publications and then later sign works with Ascot Signs, Alex moved on to the online space in the early 2000’s with Dow Digital creating graphical elements that complimented educational content that was delivered through an online portal.

The online experience continued when Alex worked briefly with Method & Madness as a front end Web designer and HTML developer between 2001-2002.

In 2002 Alex was appointed as Promotions and IT Marketing Co-ordinator for Artsource. This appointment spanned 5 years in which Alex worked closely with the Director in co-ordinating the task of taking Artsource‘s artists database online. He was also responsible for all client portfolio presentations, design of promotional and marketing materials as well as working with external suppliers when it came to the Artsource brand.

2007 to 2017 were Alex’s most formative years, working with Supersigns in the role of a Graphic Designer. Shifting from a non-profit Organisation to a profit-driven commercial operation gave Alex the understanding and appreciation of budget driven design briefs, near impossible deadlines and the general day-to-day task of client  production management.

His experience growing, and together with his skills in technical designs, Alex was also responsible for preparing Project Presentations for clients, Pantone Colour Matching, Rebranding , full use of the Adobe Creative Suite, and Shop (technical and engineering) Drawings.

By the end of his term at Supersigns, he became responsible with co-ordinating a design team, production leads, facilitating client interactions as well as managing the Company’s overall brand identity, while wearing the part time hat of a System Administrator.
